Heavy Heart
by Udo Vieth
Life must go on!
This is easy to say, when you are not personally involved.
Watching the pain suffering and destitution caused by hurricane Katrina, brought a few thoughts home to me again. We tend to forget about the suffering of others and only focus on our own problems. Broaden your vision a little and truly appreciate the fact that you are better off now than probably millions of people in existence.
Open your heart and soul to the greatest relationship of all, the relationship that we as human beings share by the mere fact that we are all assembled in this plane of existence, right here, right now. The universe is all around us, we are part of it, and so is everyone and everything else in existence. Whether you can identify with this or not, at some level, we are all one.
Don't sit and cry in despair. Do what you can and then send loving, caring and nurturing thoughts out to those caught up in the tragedies of this existence. Your conscious determination and thoughts toward strength and unity will have an effect on the totallity of humankind.
Remember the "Butterfly effect"? You can make a difference. Your smallest thought can and will help. Take a minute and send that thought.
Those of you in loving caring relationships, know the power of "just knowing" that they care. This works equally well when directed at strangers. They pick up the" vibe" and it helps.
Take this time also to do something powerful for your own existence - take ownership of what you have, and be grateful. An attitude of gratitude is a soul enriching experience. Remember, if you really look, there is always someone worse off that you. Be thankful for what you have, and acknowledge it.
Many of you have sent financial aid - now also send some "mental aid". It really does make a difference.
Remember, keep on loving.
